About Secret City Adventures

Founded in 2012, our mission is to design immersive experiences that push the boundaries of adventurous entertainment. We are pioneers of creating theatrical escape room games in Toronto, including the Casa Loma Escape Series, Black Creek Pioneer Village Escape Series, and the official Murdoch Mysteries escape room. In partnership with world-renowned SCRAP Entertainment we have produced and toured the original genre-defining Real Escape Games across Canada.

Leonardo Dell’Anno

Production and Business Dev Manager

As Secret City Adventures’ General Manager, Leonardo Dell’Anno has overseen the development of Toronto’s critically acclaimed Casa Loma Escape Series. Assembling a diverse team of designers from a variety of industries, Leonardo has shepherded several hit immersive experiences, all set in iconic Toronto landmark locations. Outside of work, Leonardo is an award­ winning producer of film, theatre and digital media. With Secret City Adventures’ current experiences still selling out, Leonardo is hard at work on the development slate and looking to push the company’s experiences in bigger and bolder directions.

Michael Keenan

Creative Director

As one of Secret City Adventures’ first creative leads, Michael has worked passionately to bring Toronto the most immersive, entertaining, and unique experiences ever offered. In both production and design, Michael has helped to establish unbeatable quality in each and every Secret City Adventure. Michael’s academic background in Psychology, combined with his passion for emerging tech, and his extensive experience in all things game design, results in a keen analytical mindset, fine-­tuned to the meta-fabric of fun, immersion, and the gamification of real life interaction.

Kevin Parnell


Joining the team in its first year of operations, Kevin has played a key role in the design and production of every Secret City Adventure game and experience. With a background in producing arts events, writing for various media, and a passion for adventure and immersive entertainment, Kevin is a natural fit with the company and seeks to challenge himself and others with every project.

Jayd Matyas


With a background in industrial design, wearable tech, and the performing arts, Jayd is a multidisciplinary designer and storyteller. Interested in human-centered design and the gamification of life, she utilizes design thinking and creative methodologies in her approach to exploring meaningful play. Highly curious about both how things and how people work, and an overall big nerd, Jayd is thrilled to have the opportunity to explore the exciting potential of the immersive gaming experience with such a talented team.

Karen Thai


Karen is multidisciplinary graphic designer with a passion for editorial, data visualization, and packaging design. She enjoys working with different mediums in order to provide a more visually unique experience for her projects. Karen loves how graphic design can shape and contribute to the overall narrative and atmosphere of escape games for the players. Her favourite font is Comic Sans, bold and italicized.

Izzy Aslam

Marketing Assistant

Izzy initially joined Secret City in 2014 as a Game Master for the popular “Real Escape Game” series.  Finishing his degree in Business Technology Management at Ryerson University, his passion for gamification and innovative technologies continued to grow. He loves hip-hop, urban exploration, and parkour, but these days he gets a thrill out of sharing his unique stories on his Snapchat and Instagram. Working closely with the creative and marketing team since Fall 2017, he hopes to learn more about the world of immersive experiences.

Iain Workman

Front of House Manager

Like so many people who work for Secret City Adventures, Iain is a theatre/gaming nerd! He loves working in an environment where the daily goal is to create experiences that challenge and make people happy! He’s the talkative and helpful type; so spending the day answering questions and helping people makes his day fly by. When not at work Iain can be found out at a show, singing karaoke, or on stage in community theatre productions…. that or hiding away at home watching sci-fi.

Meg Choi

Casa Loma Manager

Having worked for many cultural institutes in Toronto over the last 15 years, Meg has grown to love local history so it’s no wonder that she found herself at the heart of city, Casa Loma. With a background in Operations, and Staff Management, Meg has really found her place with Secret City Adventures managing Casa Loma. When not at the castle Meg can be found testing her knowledge in various trivia games or binge watching the latest Netflix original.
